Seems like most IM residents are going into fellowships or hospitalist. Is outpatient IM being left to the midlevels?

Seems like most IM residents are going into fellowships or hospitalist. Is outpatient IM being left to the midlevels?

It's a continuation of a trend now 20 years old. IM going full time hospital, FM going full time outpatient.
