Basically the title. I graduated from a Top 20-30 undergrad school with a 3.76 cGPA and a 3.65 sGPA, just took my MCAT and got a 520. I've been starting to troll SDN more and more these last weeks in preparation for my application next cycle, and I saw a post by Goro that said that taking pre req's at a community college is a bad look. My senior year I was trying to complete my minor, and due to a time conflict between the last course required for my minor and Gen Chem 2, I received permission to take Gen Chem 2 at my CC. I received an A in the course, but now I am concerned that schools may think I took the easy way out? That was the only course I ever took at a CC, so am I stressing over nothing or is it a valid concern?

nah. no one cares. Especially since you have organic and biochem after that in the sequence. I had early chemistry and biology prereqs from CC, and more advanced courses from university, and no one even asked me about it.
Plus, honestly, with your MCAT score, they DEFINITELY wont care at all. dont even worry about it for a second

it WOULD be a valid concern for someone who has A in CC, then gets a C or B- in advanced courses in college, and gets a low MCAT score. for YOU it doesnt matter AT ALL.

Awesome, I really appreciate the reply. The fact that I have one pre req course at a CC will impact what schools I can apply to though, right? Certain schools won’t accept the gen chem 2 class.

Majority wouldn’t care , but you can always just email your top schools and ask

For a single course, I don't think anyone will care especially with a 98th percentile MCAT and decent grades.
