Is the proportion of orgo on AAMC 7 representative of the actual MCAT?

I just took AAMC 7 and was incredibly surprised to see how much orgo was being tested. And, admittedly, I got a little rocked on the section because of it.

Representative?

Hmph. Ok.

I had heard that the newest version is stripped of most of its orgo and was curious about how valid that notion is. I guess the answer is: not?

Well, I had 3 passages on orgo last time I took MCAT.. (8 months ago) So that's not really true..
But yeah, most people are saying that AAMC is now focusing more on bio.. So it is possible to have very small amount of orgo questions on your MCAT, but dont think you dont need to study much for it as your exam can be like mine.

The official breakdown is actually 80/20 Bio to Orgo. That's across ALL tests though so your test will likely not just be 20% Orgo.

I think a fair rule of thumb is to expect AT LEAST one Orgo passage and AT MOST four Orgo passages. Plus discretes, obviously.

Don't ignore Orgo because they are generally easier points in the section.
