I am currently a rising junior, and I recently switched into "medicine" because it is associated more with my major and future plans in global health care.My GPA is a 4.0, and I have taken 3 upper div bio courses already as a sophomore (including Ochem, physics, gchem, and general biology). I do believe that I can maintain this gpa through my years, because biology is my strength.

I know that there are MPH/M.D. programs, but I feel like the "one year" in learning about public health is not enough. I want to get into a 2-year Master Program so I can truly learn the subject. Is this a good idea before applying to medical school? My advisor told me to just apply straight out of undergrad because she thinks I am competitive, but that is not fulfilling enough for me.
