LMU-DCOM is my top choice for many reasons. Lake Erie is my second choice because the doctor I shadowed went there (an outstanding doctor) and he spoke fairly about them. Quote from him, "Lake Erie will make you a great doctor, they will break you down and build you up.Comparison of lake erie to military training.."

Obviously with my MCAT score I am not at all picky and really would like to start medical school next fall. Should I retake (would be towards end of October)?

Although your MCAT score is slightly below the average for DO matriculants (27), I don't think there's a need to retake the MCAT. Your MCAT score and GPA is not bad and you have the clinical experience, research, DO shadowing, DO LOR etc. Stay positive. I predict you will receive interview invites from several of your top choice schools and also quite a few from your non-bolded schools as well.

Just make sure you submit those DO secondaries ASAP. Make sure your essays in the secondaries are strong (have multiple people read them) and your letters are strong as well. Put a lot of work on your secondaries.

Keep in mind that if you do retake the MCAT and score around the same or worse than that will weaken your application.
