I've always been really skeptical of programs by my schools (not this school in particular, just any school I am in, I distrust the programs irrationally)

as a result, I've looked at this thing called the Pitt Summer Edge program and it seems like something that would really aid me in trying to go to medical school, but I'm not sure how valuable it would be.

Specifically the public health one. Essentially, its a cluster of summer classes you take, that are supposed to help you if you go into a health related field. Here are the classes:

Research seems to be involved, and as for the General Elective (you pick one of the three), I was thinking either Social and Behavioral Sciences and Public Health or Principles of Epidemiology.

All in all it sounds really interesting, but it obviously costs money to do this summer program and costs time as well, so I really wanted to know how valuable this REALLY is to someone who wants to get into a medical school.
