I read one of the messages in one thread saying that DAT scores over 12 months old is considered too old, and dental schools don't like that. It this true? I am really worried about it because I took DAT in
October,2003.

It depends on the school. For example OHSU states that three years is the shelf life. Call the schools you are applying to and ask.

I just called a couple of schools and asked about that
and they all said that if you were aplying for 2006 your DAT
should have been no longer that 3 years ago which would be 2003

they said that as long as it's taken after 2003 they are equally
regarded

also to add..
they said that the reason they don't want your score to be too old
is because they don't want students that have been out of school for too long.. so maybe if they see that you've been in school..it might not matter so much?

Are you sure 2003? I took mine 7/2003. So if I apply now, its only 2 years old.

Call the schools and find out if the 3 years is from date of application, date of addmision, or date of enrollment, etc etc.

The schools I called were the three in Texas and I think they meant
from the time of applying because they gave me the example that
up to 2003 would be valid if I were to apply next year
but I think it would be better that you check with the schools that
you will apply to because it might be different with each school
