Is Wright State lower tier?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It is ranked by USNews, so it's not too bad.
I think they aren't talked about because a)it's a state school in a non-descript city (dayton, OH). So it doesn't get the kind of safety school love that Drexel or Loyola or RFU get.
b)they really emphasize primary care. One look at their match list really bears this out.

I'm actually pretty interested in it. And their website is far and away the most helpful of any med school's that I've seen. It seems like they really want to see people succeed and they have links to ways to improve your application/interviewing skills/other resources about what to consider if you want a career in the health sciences/etc., while others are like "we only take the best and the brightest so if you don't fit this mold don't come to us looking for help. We have important stuff to do - like our trophy wives". Anyway, that's just my 2¢.

US news only ranks what they consider to be "top schools?" I thought they basically ranked everyone who was willing to participate. Not that I put that much value into what they say... how's their match list, etc?

No, I think only half of all schools are ranked by USNews... I'm sure being ranked leads to more money from donors, and really helps schools' bottom line. But other than that, I'm not sure of the value of the rankings.
Anyway, here's their match list: http://www.med.wright.edu/admiss/match/index.html
