J1 Waiver - Hospitalist/Outpatient

Looking for guidance.

Upcoming IM PGY-3, looking for hospitalist jobs or outpatient primary care.

For those who have done it...how did you go about your search? When should I start? What is the process like? Any tips at all would be helpful.

It depends on the state that you are interested in. Most states have a strict quota which fills up fast and not all hospitals take physicians for a waiver.
Although there are hospitalist roles, they are much fewer than the outpatient positions.
I would advise that you contact as many hospitals as you can and ask if they do the waiver. Once you find these hospitals, their legal team should be able to walk you through the process. Good luck
