Jefferson Secondary Deadline

I took a look at Jefferson's secondary and read that it needs to be submitted in 2 weeks upon receipt. It's been a little over 2 weeks since I received it, but I didn't take a look at it until now because I didn't see any deadline on the website and I figured I would have plenty of time. I submitted the secondary anyway, but can't call to see if it's ok (office is closed) even though it's past 2 weeks. Do you think it's a strict deadline? Will they terminate my file? I've also paid the fee...

How can they make it two weeks if their reccomendation request is so unique and outrageous that it would be impossible to get those recs during that small amount of time?

That's true... technically it says "Please complete and return this form...within 2 weeks..." Maybe it's just a recommended deadline...

Oh, I don't think the statement applies to the letters of rec...just to the application form.

Well considering how Jefferson only asks 1 essay question, I don't think 2 weeks is a lot to ask. Just watch out for Case also, OP. Theirs is 2-weeks and it's more difficult.

God... is "theirs" right? I almost typed "theres" I'm losing it and I still need to finish OSU's altruism essay... :X

All it was was an "optional" text box or whatever, asking if you had any additional information you felt like offering.

if they gave you a 2 week "recommended" deadline, it's basically a real deadline they're giving you. you should make a habit of looking at secondaries to check deadlines, etc. once they come in, so you don't make this mistake again!

I don't think they'd terminate your file. The biggest concern is that your app might get lost in the shuffle, because of that. But, this early in the admissions season, it's not a huge concern. Call them on Monday (just to be safe), but it should probably be okay....

You're correct. The letters of recommendation do NOT have to be in within 2 weeks. Just the secondary.
