On the question "Are there any areas of medicine that are of particular interest to you?" do u think they're asking u to comment on aspects of medicine (ie patient care, teaching, research...) or particular specialties/subjects (cardiology...) that u may have worked in?

there was another thread on this recently. the general concensus was : either. Just talk about the areas you do have some preference for whether it's more general or more specific. Hmm, I'll try searching for that thread now. BRB...

I took it to mean specialty. But now that I think about it, my answer ended up being... I'm interested in becoming an XYZ because it incorporates X, Y, and Z... which are aspects of medicine that I'm interested in.
So... the continuum is a circle, as it were.

I interpreted it as a specialty question, but I can definitely understand your interpretation. Like the previous post, I talked about the specialty I was interested in, and addressed the aspects of that specialty that drew me to it.
