anyone heard yet? (if you couldn't tell, i'm anxiously awaiting the decision)

Hey, so did anyone get the call? Who's supposed to call anyway? Is it the black dude? Or Dean Weiss? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

i still haven't heard anything either. oh well. hopefully they haven't called people yet. otherwise, we must be waitlisted or rejected :( .

My girlfriend interviewed on a Friday and hasn't yet heard either - we're just trying to not worry too much and checking SDN and interview feedback a whole lot... good luck to everyone :)

So I'm becoming skeptical that 11/20 was actually a decision date. I interviewed the week of 10/18 and haven't heard anything yet. Anyone else heard from them?

hey guys,

i got the call from Hopkins yesterday afternoon. i was in shock. so i know they did start calling. i hope you guys hear soon!.

my girfriend interviewed end of september-ish and got the phone call yesterday (I interviewed end of october and am still waiting)

Thank you so much for the info. Maybe I got the dreaded waitlist... I'll wait by the phone.

i interviewed there in mid october, and i was told that the committee has certain cut off dates for looking at applicants. that is, if you interviewed between date x and y, you'd be considered on date z. i was told that i missed the first decision date by about a week, meaning that my application wouldn't be looked at until november. if i missed that date by about a week, then that means the girl who was accepted yesterday but interviewed in late september was still part of the first batch-in other words her acceptance did not result from the november 20th meeting.

just to clarify my last post. i interviewed in late sept, but at my interview, they told me that my decision would be made on nov 20. Dean White told me that my decision was made on the 20th, but they wanted to call after Thanksgiving.

i wonder why they told me that then. does this mean i was definitely not accepted? or do they make the calls over a span of more than one day? crap.

What if you're not home? Will they leave a message? I'm going nuts here.

Okay, I'm really hoping that everyone who has been called has had early interviews and that they're calling people in that order.

Has anybody gotten the call who interviewed in late October?

Havent gotten the acceptance phone call yet, but they left a message on my machine before about an interview. I hope they do the same for acceptance because I'm only home from about 10 PM-8 AM.

My student host said that they left her a message about her acceptance. Didn't say that she was accepted though but something about her app not being complete. She was pretty freaked out...until she called them back.

Congrats everyone who got the call.

To clarify the message thing- Dean White left a message on my machine, just saying that he had called and that I should give him a call back. Believe me I was so nervous I dialed the number wrong at least 3 times before I got the good news. Good Luck!

Guys-

Is it too late to send in the JHU secondary?

Thanks

Hi Dr.Perez, I just got the following from their website:

11/12/01

Dear Prospective Applicant:

The deadline to file an application for the Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine with American Medical College Application
Service (AMCAS) has passed. Although you may have recently
submitted your AMCAS application, it may take several weeks for us
to receive it from AMCAS. We will send you an acknowledgement
card once our office has processed your AMCAS application. Please be
assured that we are making every effort to process applications as we
receive them.

The deadline to file the Hopkins secondary application is December 1,
2001. If you have only recently submitted your application, please be
patient, and we will send you the secondary application as soon as
possible. If we mail it to you at a time that is close to the December 1
deadline, we will indicate the date by which it must be returned to our
office.

However, if you filed an AMCAS application more than one month
ago and you still have not received our secondary application, please
contact us by e-mail at [email protected] so that we may send you
a new secondary application. Please be sure to indicate the correct
mailing address.

If you are unable to contact us by e-mail, you may call 410-614-3544
and leave a message: we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We thank you for your patience and for your interest in the Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Just to let you know: the application must be RECEIVED in their office by 12/01/01.

Has anybody else gotten the call? If so, when did you interview?

On interview day (9/28) Paul White told us that he'll call on Nov. 30. It seems like people who interviewed later have already gotten calls. WTF?

chef,
i actually interviewed with you on the 28th of Sept. I remember him saying that decisions would be made on the 20th of November.

good luck!
