Iam a FTD and wish to work as Dental Assistant,
Can i work as a dental assistant by doing CDA exam, i do have work visa. Please let me know the state as well.

Most of the states don't even ask for a DA certificate for you to work as a DA. and lately I've heard that you can become a Hygienist in Florida after taking an exam...

I am working here without any DA certificate. But I took a course for X-ray certificate. Very cheap $175.
I have worked in 3 clinics and the Dentist whom with I am working now asked me to get this certificate so that I can legally take radiographs(she did not wanted to get in trouble, may be this was the reason) Before working here I did not had any X-ray certificate.

thanks hope4 for the reply... i know dental hygienist job opeanings filled within a second and preference is given to those who have studied the course rather than international dentists... i am in florida.....exam is administered just once a year in june so still its like 8-9 months still...till then i was thinking of working as a dental assistant here but in FL i need X ray certification to work, for that i need to either study in state certified DA course (which takes a year and 5000/6000 $ out of your pocket) or work for 3 months under direct supervision of Licensed dentist ( which no body hires practically).... so was just looking for oportunities in other states...!!!

Can you please let me know which state are you working in??
