Job contract

Hello Everyone,
I am planning to change the job and new clinic is within 5 miles and in my current contract it says that i cannot work or engage in any dental business within 5 miles radius. I am in state of Massachusetts and someone told me that its non-compete state and this contract will have no legal meaning. Need some advice before its too late. thanks.
