Ok, so here's the deal:

I submitted 7/24 - no movement in my app to date. Today I finally broke down and called AMCAS (for the first time ever). The person I spoke to seemed nice and was helpful. She said that she would put my app on the infamous priority list and that someone would look at it today and it should be processed within 2 weeks at the latest. Mind you I have no red Xs, no nothing as of now...

Has anyone else been told this same thing by AMCAS? Are they serious? Can I really expect to be processed in 2 weeks? I can say this, If I am not processed within then I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and call a lawyer.

Hi,
I just did the same thing (being that we submitted on the same day :) ). I was on hold no more than 3 minutes!!! I have heard excellent things about the priority list. People usually get results within a week. Of course, there are also people who are on the list and still not verified. Let's hope for the best!

Geez - AMCAS seems to really be getting their act together. I RECEIVED a phone call just now from Tillinghast's assistant informing me of the status of my app and the fact that is on the priority list and will be processed by Nov 1 (he assured me of this). I will believe it when I see it...but it sure feels like AMCAS is changing its ways...

Hi, I had my name put on the priority list and exactely one week later, my application was verified. The lady I spoke to at AMCAS was very nice and I tried to be equally so: I told her that I was extremely frustrated that my application had not been verified yet despite having submitted it three months ago and I apologized for taking it out on her because I knew it wasn't her fault.

Don't get mad at the poor telephone operators at AMCAS--sure they might be incompetent sometimes but whatever is going on with your application is not their fault. I'm sure that if it was up to them, they would have them verified in an instant. Besides, who knows what kind of powers they might wield? Why not play it safe and be nice! Sorry for the ranting...

Still waiting on a date processed. Any one know exactly what is involved in the steps between verification of grades and being processed?

I spoke to a really nice lady named Rosa last week who assured me that my application would be put on the priority list to be verified. I submitted 7/21. Still no red X's or any sign that they have touched my app. I tried to call earlier today but they close at 2:30 on Thursdays(I called at 2:35 Aughhhhhh). :(

none, as I recall you submitted somewhat late, and then got the red X's in record time. I'm thinking that AMCAS may be being careful about verifying applications in order these days, because they've had quite a few people threatening legal action due to out-of-order processing. I know this is not what you want to hear, but I think you may have just been moved back to your rightful place in line. Or, it could be that they've found some discrepancy that's slowing up the verification process. I don't think there are any steps between verification of grades and finally being processed.

Heya Sarena - call 202-828-0400 and ask for nancy tillinghast. she'll put you on the priority list (i THOUGHT I was on it - at least that's what a specialist had told me, but Nancy said that I wasn't on it) and then will send you a confirmation email. She also should forward the email to the head honcho I think it is, in charge of the application. I did all this on monday, then on wednesday when I called the regular amcas # the specialist told me that on her screen she saw 3 Xs and i would also be able to by the end of the week (today). I've been wanting to email you in the normal manner but my stupid computer is broken so the only way is writing posts on here from work.
