I made this school list when I was expecting a 503. Any new additions to recommend?

Should I look into applying MD too with this MCAT or would that be a waste of time?

Honestly, I would do a DIY post bacc to raise gpa. MCAT is good enough for some MDs. But, I'm of the opinion that md>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DO

^ I can't agree with that unless OP wants to spend another year repairing GPA. 509 is only the average for matriculated MD students, His GPA is too low for schools to give him a serious shot. Coupled with the irregular grad trend, schools just don't have much to look forward to when they see the application. I do think he should apply to his state schools, but OP should no that that still might be a stretch. OP has a very high chance of getting accepted this cycle and if he delays by doing a post-bacc that may or may not boost his GPA, then he is just furthering himself away from a physicians income by x amount of years.
Also, my grade trend was similar to OP, slightly higher GPA and MCAT 3 points higher and I still didn't apply MD and was not advised to.

I personally think you can afford to cut down your DO list and throw in a couple of MD schools just in case. You are in great shape for DO so you don't need to apply to that many. Your GPA is low but not completely out of range for IS MD. While your MCAT is not very high for MD, it's balanced so at least it's not going to work against you. I'd recommend sprinkle some well-chosen MD schools in your list but don't expect anything. You never know though.

^ Disagree with the above. I'd apply broadly to DO schools. You won't know what school and it's curriculum fits you until you see it in person, which means going to many many interviews. Don't worry about the extra costs, it's going to be so tremendous it'll make your head spin. By the time interviews are over, you're going to be tired of winning. Believe me.

Thanks for the advice everybody!

I'm going to apply to a few USMD as well. I know it's a waste of time, but the fam insists despite efforts to demonstrate the futility. They wanna literally piss their money down the drain, I'm not gonna fight them lol

You might get some love. Probably not, but try your best nonetheless.
