    Well, I just got my MCAT score today: PS: 8 VR: 9 BS: 10 = 27R
    Do I have a shot at PCOM, DMU or COMP?
    GPA= 3.5
    Lots of research and possibly publications
    Good LOR from COMP alumi
    What do you think? I'll aply to a bunch of schools but those are the ones I prefer. I don't want to go through MCAT again.

    Nice. I think you have a shot at those schools. Apply early, though. Doing so can really put you over the edge and get you that interview.

    I'm from Cali so my chance is close to none. Even with a 30 MCAT.

    Ditto. I'm from California, 34 MCAT, and I didn't even get a secondary from any of the UC's.
    (Of course, that's in large part due to my GPA.)

    Nevertheless...this is a hard state to get into a public allopathic school...or any allopathic school, period, since the private schools consist of Stanford, USC, and Loma Linda.

    Second this...a friend of mine who is a neurosurgeon now...applied to PCOM, UPenn, and Penn State, and the only school he got flat out rejected from was PCOM. (I know, probably an exception to the rule--as he had some unique circumstances..but still worth trying your instate schools).

    Nice work, consider applying to some OOS or private allopathic schools too, as you might have a shot at those too!
