Just how much info IS a graduate school (or AMCAS) allowed?

This is all hypothetical...of course

Say you took a summer course at a school you weren't a student at, for some mundane class you thought would be interesting, and you did poorly. Very poorly. You never told any you ever took the course, not even your alma mater's registrar.

Can any graduate school (or the AMCAS) somehow get info on every single school you've been to, or would it be an invasion of privacy?

You need to list every class that you have taken b/c you have to have ALL of your transcripts, to the medical school, prior to matriculation.

Don't get kicked out b/c you didn't list a single class.

I understand, but what if no one ever even knew you took the class. yes, at that summer school there will be a record, filed neatly away somewhere, that you took it, but what would prompt any school, anyONE from ever asking about it.

I guess the phrase "what they don't know can't hurt them" applies. What I'm curious about is if there is some all-encompassing service that graduate programs use that automatically lists every school a student has ever been enrolled in.

And if anyone's curious...lets just say the course was African Dance.

It is interesting to note, however, that to verify enrollment in a university, the searcher has to select a school from the list....I would wonder if they would go through every single one.

Institutions can run a check on an individual verifying attendance at any participating school.

crap I shouldve never taken that dance class 🙁
