Has anyone ever failed an undergraduate course, but was still accepted into med school?
Yes...during one of my interviews, my interviewer who was a M4 told me that she failed a course in undergrad. One bad grade isn't going to kill your chances...retake the course, do well the second time around, and you should be fine.
I have and I was.
Lot's of people have. Getting a great GPA is important, but overcoming a lousy grade or two is not impossible in the course of an entire college career. Now if the F was in a science course that was worth 20hrs. that could be tough.
Yay, so there is some chance!! Thanks for your replies everyone. I'd hate to think that a future could be determined solely on some stupid random course. Thanks for your input!
BTW, what's an M4?
i dont know about fail, but i've gotten a D+ in an evolution class. i HATED that class.
haha, ya I just finished a course in evolution as well. definitely NOT for me. but it's organic chem that killed me...
A fourth year med student.
