Just wondering how important is it to have good vision in becoming/being a dentist?

If someone has nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), and her best corrected visual acuity is less than 20/30, can she do dental surgery?

There's no "yes or no" here -- you can do what you can do. If you're able to work well with your hands and can see what you're doing then sure, why not? Do you do anything that would demonstrate to an admission committee (and to yourself) that you have the hand skills and visual acuity to work in small dark spaces?
