I am sure there are a bunch of threads on here about kaplans intial diag score and the improvement people have had throughout the course, can someone plz put the links as i am have a tough time finding them. I am just a lil excited cuz I did better than I thought I did w/ a 24 and am now curious as how much other people have actually improved

Thanks

10 points is a lot!
does it get harder to go up if you already got a good score...like say a 30?

I would think so as the difference between 11 and 12 or 13... would be only a matter of a few questions right here or there. Depending on what topics your good at and some luck

That all depends on the individual I guess . . . I only went up 2 points in Verbal from my Kaplan diagnostic (13) to the real thing (15.) I started off with an 8 in PS and ended up with a 12. In BS, I started off with a 9 and ended up with a 13.

The diagnostic was helpful for me because it let me know what I needed to study (PS/BS) and what I didn't have to worry about too much (VR). Also, the score report you get after the diagnostic is the only one that's that detailed, so that was a useful tool. On the other hand, since all the topics aren't really represented that well it can be a tad misleading (i.e. missing 1 question out of 2 about magnetic fields and being told that you need to work on magnetic fields, whereas if there had been 5 questions you may have only missed that one).

After thinking about it I've decided that the diagnostic really isn't that much different difficulty-wise than the full-length tests, but it's really hard to compare them because (a) by the time you're taking the other full-lengths you've done a lot of prep and (b) the diag is so short that the whole pacing/fatigue thing doesn't come into play.

Hope that made sense. If you put in the work your score will go up. 👍
