I made about $13 an hour for contact time (= class time), plus $7 an hour for prep time and you get a specific amount of prep time per course, with more allotted the first time you teach the course. The allocation was always significantly less than the time I actually spent, and I always spent more unpaid time talking to students before/after class too. I quit after my first course because I had fantastic evals and they never even mentioned a raise, which I absolutely deserved.

i thought instructors made somewhere around 30-40/hour or maybe its for another test prep? I know that EK instructors (since i work for them), make about 30 an hour

I think it also varies quite a bit by region.
