I thought this was going to be my weekend where I would hit 3-0. Then I took Kaplan FL 3. This mother violated me. I feel as though every time I looked down at the Physical Sci section, that it spit in my eye and laughed.

I could not maintain Jedi composure, so after that test laughing at me all through Verbal, I walked out.

What the?!?

Then I went home and finished Bio, because I'm glutten for punishment. Why didn't they throw even more Orgo on it? Or have an Addendum: Dear Kaplan Student, in honor of FL 3, please complete another five passages that have to do with disco polyester and spandex fibers or whatever.

At least the morphine/heroin part was cool...

Alright, my experience, that's all. Holla to all of you. Love and puffs --pffr

Don't worry about Kaplan full length three. The physical sciences are waaay harder than you need on the real mcat.

i hear you on kaplan FL # 3. i went from a 30 on the first one to a 33 on the second (would have been a 35 if i hadn't run out of energy. b/c i'm really skinny, i need that extra energy) and down to a 30 on the third test. I was running out of time on all 3 sections on this test. if i was able finish on time, then i could have been five or six points higher.

#3 kicked my as* today. I'm glad I'm not the only one...i ran out of time on both PS and BS, and i honestly thought physical sciences was way harder than usual. I don't have much motivation tonight to do anything, bc I feel like today shamed me.
What to do?

Kaplan #3 was insane. I found both the physical sciences and verbal to be extremely difficult. :(

I liked the verbal since I went from a 7 to 9 on that one. Otherwise, the PS and BS both went down. Anyone have suggestiosn on how to improve on BS? I find it very shameful that I'm a biology specialist...yet I can't do well in bio of all sections. I'm horrible in physics, yet I can manage usually a 10 in it.

Lol ok, reading this post made me giggle a little, but yeah, studying for the MCAT in itself is a B$&#%! Good luck, though.

K I don't feel TOO bad that I'm scoring WELL below 10's since I haven't started hardcore studying...ok I studied like 3 hours the first week of my TPR course, but I'm focusing on school right now. (<20 on course diagnostics, planning to take CBT next year).

I suck at bio too, though...even though I'm horrible with physics (hated the subject) and not too hot for gchem (it's been 3 years since I took it!), I think these subjects are easier to study because once you get the concept/formula, you just apply it to a variety of problems. For bio, it's always been kind of tough because it's about memorizing, plain and simple. Or at least, I've never pinpointed the magic formula that I can apply to everything, so the only way I can get it is to memorize. Flashcards have never been my thing, because I hate carrying around a stack of tiny cards that get lost so easily. For bio, I learn from writing outlines. Then later on, I condense the outline and make a new one that has less, under the assumption that one thing will trigger the memory of another.

Maybe you shouldn't be taking advice from someone who hasn't even broke 20 (I fell asleep during the diagnostics though because I was up the night before), but bio in general is my toughest subject, so I thought I'd share how I get through bio classes at school

Thanks for your advice! It's the same with me actually, I do the exact same thing for courses in bio at school. I usually do alright in those, except for physiology (that perhaps could be why I'm screwing up on MCAT which is like what--50% physio lol). I was just wondering if memorizing is the way to go though, considering the lack of time, I want to spend it to maximize my results. Like I can go hardcore memorizing, but I don't know if that ultimately will be better than just doing practice test after practice test.
