I'd like some opinions on this---trying to decide whether to shell out some money for this---I can get about a $150 discount.

You get 2 review books: "General Principles" and "Organ Systems," and a question book. "Review" is actually a little misleading as the material is really extensive and a lot of it, extraneous. As far as I'm concerned, there just isn't enough time to go cover to cover with both of them, e.g., I started the neuro, immuno, and behavioral science sections last month and haven't even covered 1/2 of the material yet -- and this is without the MS2 classes?! I would save my money if I were you, although the question book looks promising.

I think I'm gonna stick with "First Aid" and some of the high - rated review books, as they seem a bit more doable. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend the Kaplan home study books. They cover everything you need.

I had no problem reading them cover to cover, both books, twice. I also did BRS Path, BRS Pharm, BRS Phys, and Kaplan's online qBank. I spent about 5 weeks total studying, with about 2 of those weeks being a slacker (only studying 2 or 3 hours a day; the rest I was studying about 10-15 hours/day).

$150 is a good deal for the books. Just make sure they're pretty new.

GM is right on. I used the Kaplan books + first aid + BRS phys + my personal systemic path notes, along with Kaplan's qbank. I highly recommend going through qbank, as it does a good job of emulating step 1 questions. I would avoid the live lecture and "web prep" junk, unless you really want to re-live the first 2 yrs in an 8 week period, and have plenty of excess cash to do it. I took 4 weeks to study, and goofed off during the 1st week. I studied like a madman for the next 3 weeks and did much better than I deserved.
