Kaplan Qbank plus vs. Qbank??

What's the difference between the two? If anyone had/has a preference, can u please share why? thanks!

QBank plus is for DO students, so they get USMLE type Qs in addition to their usual COMLEX type Qs.

Is this really true? The Kaplan representative told us that the Qbank was the same as the Qbank plus, except that the Qbank plus has more questions. I don't want to be doing COMLEX type questions, however, because I am only studying for one test: The USMLE. And I want to make sure that the only questions I do are ones that simulate the USMLE.

Could someone please clarify this for me?

Sorry to bring an old thread back....but since there was one thought I'd post here

My searches didn't come up with anything useful discussing the differences between the two...

Can anyone who has or is using Qbank Plus give some feedback on it...

Is it regular Qbank on steroids? Do you simply get more questions than you would with regular Qbank? They talk about being able to organize your questions by 'symptoms'....is that a good way to learn/do questions?

Just any feedback on Qbank vs. Qbank-Plus would be appreciated.

The plus is hell of a lot more change and they don't have 2/3 month options..its either 6 or 12 months.

I don't know what the regular qbank is like, but qbank plus has 2 extra mini qbanks. One is integrated vignettes, with several questions per vignette. I only did maybe 30-40 of these, and thought they were way easier than the actual qbank. I haven't used them since. There is also a physiology qbank, which I haven't used too much. There is also a diagnostic test, and another simulated exam. I'm not sure if these things are already in the regular qbank or not. Honestly, I only got qbank plus because they gave us a deal where it was only slightly more than regular qbank. Otherwise, I wouldn't have spent the extra money. Hope that helps.

I agree exactly with what clusterc said. I ended up getting the Qbank plus because our school had a deal with kaplan and it ended being the same price as regular Qbank. It terms of differences b/t Qbank plus vs. Regular Qbank:
1) Plus has the Integrated Vignette Q's -> these are easier than the actual Qbank Q's and I would say they really aren't necessary.
2) The physiology Qbank is ok. The regular qbank just tests you on the most important topics from the physio Qbank.
My school uses the NBME customized exams which are retired step 1 questions and I would say that regular Qbank + USMLEworld + FA covered almost all of the physio topics. I have to say that UW was the most accurate. I got some q's that were exactly the same, it was kind of weird...

Also Qbank plus is a viable option only if you have 6+ months to study becuase the shortest period available is 6 mo. Hope that helps.
