I feel like this thing is WAY too assuring. My raw score at 300 questions completed is 61%. Kaplan translates that to a 228 on the real thing... That seems way too high. Isn't 60% passing on the real thing? I've still got about 3 months till the real thing and haven't really started studying (aside from doing qbank) and I really don't need any false confidence screwing up my fear of failure driven motivation.

If you're at %61 and assuming that total qbank users mean score is about %55, and the mean usmle step1 score is about 220, I don't think it's over estimating, but after completing all questions it will be more meaningful.

sounds about right. if you're doing well in your classes there's no reason not to think you can pass this test easily.

BUMP.

Anyone have any feedback on this now?

My overall percentage is 67% with about 2/3 of the bank complete. The estimator says 238, and my NBME scores have been in the 230-240 range. So....looks pretty accurate to me.

Has anyone done the new Kaplan Qbank and got their USMLE 1 scores? Care to share the correlation?

My last 10 tests (mixed/random, unused, timed, 48-Q blocks) average ~ 60%. I'm not sure if that is good or bad, but I do know this new Kaplan Qbank is incredibly difficult - I think this is Kaplan's revenge! 🙄

I'll finish all 2300 Qs this Wednesday....

From what I can tell, I did a search on this same thing and asked around some of the 3rd years a few months ago and noone seems to know how accurate Qbank estimates are. My Qbank estimate correlated well with my CBSE score, but the jury is out on how accurate those are as well. Also some people do tons of Qbank before studying and some people do it all after they have reviewed a ton. Some people do random 48's, and some do subject specific right after studying that topic. I don't really see how it could be that accurate of a predictor. Like the average qbank score is a combination of people who have studied a ton and people have just started studying whereas most everyone has studied a fair amount before taking step 1 so you can't just say that the avg. qbank score is equivalent to the average step 1 score, ya know? Basically I think everyone is just guessing and you are only going to get anecdotal experiences. Also most people stop reading this forum after they are done studying, so most of us are realllly just guessing b/c we haven't even taken the test yet.
