So I took my first AAMC full length exam and wow was I surprised at how different it was. I thought all the sections in the AAMC exam were a lot easier than kaplan, but the curve was less forgiving. I wish kaplan tests were more representative of the actual exam. I dropped 4 points from my kaplan full length. 🙁 Gah! June 15th is coming very soon!

This happened to me as well. My score went up after I started taking the AAMC material and using that to study by AND because I got used to the AAMC tests. Trust me, you'll get used to them but start busting your ass doing it. Use AAMC questions to study. Use Kaplan FL's to see how your endurance is.

My kaplan tests are regulary mid 30s, but I've gotten 29 on my last three aamcs. I felt like I did much better on the aamcs as well. The curve really doesn't make a lot of sense for actual performance. I agree, Kaplan sucks.

I'm in the same boat, and its only b/c of Kaplans insane curve on verbal...I can't seem to get higher than an 8 so far on AAMC verbal...while 10's in Kaplan..so we'll see..

I also have a major score discrepancy. I started out taking the Kaplan FLs and I consistently got scores in the 36-38 range. Then I took some AAMCs, and thought I would knock them out of the park because they seemed so much easier than the Kaplan tests. Boy, was I wrong! The curve on the AAMCs is wicked! I can miss the same # of questions on both tests and get 2-3 points lower per section on AAMC than on Kaplan. Actually, my VR scores are very consistent between the two (10-11 for both), but on Kaplan PS, I've consistently gotten 13-14 and on AAMC, I get 11-12. For bio, I get 13-15 on Kaplan and 11-13 on AAMC. I've never had an overall score over 35 on AAMC. My biggest problem on both tests is stupid mistakes, especially calculation errors. Kaplan is more forgiving, AAMC is not.
