So I got into KCU and Touro Middletown. I have another 12 days to put down my deposit for Touro. I'm extremely torn. I liked both schools. But my parents live 45 min from Touro middletown. And it would probably be in my best interest to do my rotations at hospitals that I am more likely to do my residency at. But I fell in love with KCU when I went for my interview. Help! Thanks :)

Tough call. How important is family to you? I got accepted to Middletown as well, but am also going through this dilemma with other schools further away from home that I probably liked a bit better than Middletown. From what I've researched though and from asking current med students, having a strong support system nearby is very important especially with something as tough as medical school.

Only you know yourself best. Location aside, I would choose KCU since it's obviously more established and they have a proven track record, but at the same time the importance of being close to home (however important it is to you) also makes a big difference and should be taken into account when deciding between schools. Good luck.

Bottom line for choosing schools is figuring out where you will fit in best/be happiest. In your case, it totally depends on how important being near family is to you. If your love for KCU outweighs your desire to live near family, choose KCU, & vice versa.
