hey guys. im gonna be a student at KCUMB this fall and was thinking about where I'm going to live. I cant seem to find the packet I received with info on housing. If current students could suggest areas nearest to the school that are relatively decent to live in, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd like to contact and arrange for an apt soon.

    Thanks again.

I have lived in the downtown KC area for the last 4 years, 3 of which were at New Quality Hill. The apartment I had there at 1012 Broadway was great. It had a full size in unit washer and dryer, which was key, the staff was great to work with, and it was in a fun area downtown. It is about 5 minutes from the school and had a parking garage for you to park in.

I also spent a year at Century Towers because it was convenient being next to the school. The staff here was great as well, but the apartment was much smaller and it felt a little like the residence halls from undergrad. Luckily, I am somewhat of a minimalist so it didn't matter too much to me. I have never had any issues with safety there, but the neighborhood is a little rough.

Finally, I have had friends that have enjoyed living at Walnut Grove and The Woods at Walnut Creek. They have had no issues with those places either.

Depending on the size of the apartment, the range when I was there was between $450 and $800. It gets more expensive than that if you go the townhome option. You will have to call the number on the site I listed to get exact prices.
