I don't want to disrupt this forum, but I have question.

My friend needs a kidney transplant, he has type O blood making him harder to match. He has signed onto a variety of lists around the country, and has been waitlisted, ranging from 2-6 years. I just wanted to make sure he has contacted all of the donor sources available, so I'm asking you people to share any programs you are aware of that might help find him another kidney. Thanks in advance. 👍

he can probably buy one in china

fastest way? get a living donor.... talk to friends, talk to relatives, talk to church-members, get the word out.... that is the fastest way... plus you don't have to worry about much ischemic time 🙂

Yeah getting a friend of family member is going to be the fastest way.

I'm under the impression that there is only one national registry for the US. Therefor he can only get on one list in the US. For my brother's second transplant he had to get on a waitlist too but only the national registry.
