At first I was thinking about doing Bio or Biomed major, but Kinesiology seems like a better choice for me (I would not need Calculus as a prereq and could take a spare instead, I hate math btw, and human kinetics focuses more on biomechanics, physiology, neuroscience, and social sciences). I'm planning on a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours (4 years) at Waterloo.

Are there any med students that also took kinesiology at university?

I majored in kines. If it is what you enjoy then go for it. Make sure you take the kines route that involves biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, movement analysis, psychology, neuroscience and motor control. Do not major in P.E. kines.

Also, I think you should take calculus anyways. It looks good to take it and do well in it. If you take it during a light semester or a summer you should be able to put the time in and do well. Good luck.

My semester will already be pretty full, and I don't wan't to take extra classes I don't need, especially calc, I will already be taking advanced functions the same semester and I don't even like math. The kine program I am taking is science-based (that's what the website says), and it also says we will be studying biomechanics, physiology, neuroscience, and social sciences. There will also be anatomy and probably movement analysis as well.

I don't plan on taking math or English courses during university.

If you don't plan on taking English or math courses, then don't plan on going to medical school either. Unfortunately, most med schools require math and English courses. I'm surprised you aren't required to take an English class as part of your undergrad GenEd classes, actually.

Most schools require about one year of English Composition classes and one to two semesters of college level math classes.

Here's a list of schools and what math courses they require/recommend: http://www.cse.emory.edu/sciencenet/additional_math_reqs.pdf

Yes I know. I am taking English and math in grade 12, and they are prerequisites for the Kine program. I live in Canada and won't be applying for a med school in the states, there are many med schools here that have no prerequisites at all. Some have no prerequisites and also no MCAT. I don't like math and English doesn't interest me (all we basically do in English now is read books - of which we have no choice in, and write essays about it). I will probably take stats as my only math in university.

If you are doing biomechanics, plan on doing some math. There is some physics based math concepts involved in that area. I took some biomechanics classes, and recall doing math. Just a heads up.
