For hydrogen halide to a conjugated diene, at room temperature (25 C) does 1,4 thermodynamic control predominate or does 1,2 kinetic control predominate? DAT Achiever Test 2, question 76 says that thermodynamic control predominates, but an online search indicates kinetic control. Which is correct??

at room temp it would almost have to be 1,2 kinetic. Not sure why they are saying thermodynamic

at or below room temprture normaly leads to the mixture of products which 1,2 is predominates over 1,4 ( based on McMurry)
