I'm gonna take a pulmonary/critical care rotation soon, and was wondering if anyone knew any good books for pulmonary, managing vents, etc.

I know that The ICU book by moreno is good. any others? (especially for the pulmonary part). Thanks!

I would be interested in hearing about this as well.

On my ICU rotation I used the ICU Book -- great book! I also did a Pulmonary rotation, but I couldn't find any pulmonary books that seemed like they would be good for med students. What I ended up doing for that month was reading lots of the Harrison's sections on pulmonary, and using MD Consult all the time.

Marino's ICU Book is about the only book that does Critical Care Med any justice.

For Pulmonary, most Medicine handbooks will do fine; there is also a spiral bound series (is it the House Officer Series?) which has a Pulmonary handbook.

I agree... the ICU BOOK kicks ass, I used it for my SICU rotation. got a nice rec. letter!!!
