Lamenting the wait--what does the silence mean?

I've been visiting SDN religiously over the past few weeks and can't decide if it's the best or worst site I've found during this excrutiating process--sometimes it brings my hopes up, other times, quite the opposite.

I'm writing this rather boring post because I'M GOING NUTS!!! I have had 10 interviews and I'm ECSTATIC that I got that many WHOPEE! And I got one acceptance..YAY, going to med school.....

But I REALLY wanna know what the hell the other schools are doing. Am I waitlisted? Accepted? Rejected? I should be happy, silence is golden yada yada. I just thing that I want this whole damn process to END!!

Anyone else had enough??

First of all congrats on getting 10 INTERVIEWS! That's no easy feat. Now to your question, all the schools that I've interviwed at thus far have all had a pretty quick turnaround, 3 weeks at most. What schools are you waiting to hear back from? Maybe others who have applied to those schools can help. Also did the schools mention when you would be hearing back at your interview? If you've been waiting over a month, you could call the office and ask a general ~ how long does it take ~ type question without revealing your identity. G'luck, but I'm sure that you'll be raining acceptances pretty soon!

Thanks Ashanti...3 weeks at most?? Damn! You're lucky. I guess I could call a few places. I know that four of the schools I'm waiting on have accepted people already (Roch, Einstein, Downstate, RWJMS). Otherwise, there's the "non-rolling" schools like cornell that don't tell till March...but seem to tell before March. This whole process is like a really bad complicated version of the dating game. I guess I'll start calling...
