    Hello all,

I'm starting med school in August and was wondering if current med students can advise me which computer is best to buy, a laptop or desktop? I've got no idea which one to get and can't afford both!!

    Thanks.

Well, you didn't say where you'll be starting or if you're independently wealthy, so I'll just offer this bit of advice blindly... Depending on the cost of living in the city to which you'll be going, you may end up with a small apartment, with space at a premium. I would consider a laptop for just this reason. In fact, since I'll be moving to NY (Brooklyn) soon, I bought a laptop when I got a new computer in December. Also, if you'll have roommates and only one internet connection (as could happen with cable internet), it'll be easier to switch out computers when someone else wants to get online...
