Don't worry about it. The school will get you your BLS certification second semester of your first year. Then, they will ACLS certify you as an MSII. Even paramedics and nurses in our class who were already certified were required to take the BLS course, so I wouldn't waste your time or money on it!

Actually, my husband and I bought a duplex in downtown Erie. We rent out the top half (which pays our house payment), and it makes it a lot easier to get through the year. Our house isn't the most spectacular place, but it's inexpensive and we have plenty of time to have a really nice house after residency.
