Does anyone here have experience with Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers and did it prepare you adequately for residency.

More importantly.... what are some advantages and disadvantages of doing rotations at a hospital that does not have residency slots for someone wanting to go into primary care.

My friends told me that Lee Memorial is very limited. I don't know in what aspect.

If they have FM residents, then you'll likely be working with them on core rotations such as OB, surgery, and IM. A small hospital might have less volume and less varied pathology in general. However, if there is an interesting case, you might be more likely to be able to see it because of less specialist availability as well as less people working on the patient's primary service.

If it's a small hospital without residents, the pros are that you likely won't be doing call all the time and you will get to do more hands-on stuff in terms of procedures. The obvious downside is that even IF you have good attendings who take time to teach you, you won't be able to see what a resident does.
If you go to a hospital without residents, you really should sign up for several away rotations at teaching hospitals during your fourth year.
