letter of interest: can i handwrite the address?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You mean on the envelope? lol, adcom members don't personally open these things, and even if they did, I doubt they've got the time to judge your handwriting and mentally log the fact that they now think you suck. They get opened by a staffer and thrown in your file. Handwriting on the envelope is fine. =)

folks:

is it ok to handwrite the address on a letter of interest and should i type up a label?
Seriously, no one receiving the letter is going to care.

I agree that nobody will care...But if you did want to make the envelope look professional or whatever, the easiest way is to just stick an envelope in your printer and then select "#10 envelope" in your Page Setup. Word even has a template that lets you plop in the mailing address and return address in the right spots. Piece of cake!

Type it? Please. You better hand-write the address extra sloppy, doctor-style.

So I don't mean to hijack the thread, but i've had this similar question a long time here. Now, if I already have the mail-to address typed, is it OK to handwrite the return address..since it isnt addressed to them? Please please, I don't want to get rejected just because my w's look funny. Please help me.

😱 😱 😱

How about this....handwrite the letter. Daring huh? That's what I did. One of my friends who's a med student and works in the admiss office told me to do so. So I did....

It doesn't matter if you hand write or type the address on the envelope. You could also e-mail the LOI as an attachment. This might be a better method because the LOI will get there quicker and it is getting late in the game. I have had success e-mailing my LOI to a school. The next day I got accepted. Some schools prefer that you e-mail your LOI. You might want to call the school first though.

not to mention emailing shows your environmental compassion by not killing off the rain forests to make paper or whatever...a paper letter could be an instant rejection simply due to the disregard for the well-being of the planet...

Er.....I e-mailed mine not even as an attachment.....I got in a week later.

PS: I know that we can get really paranoid...
