Letter of recommendation from a DO for MD

I tried searching the forums but didnt find anything - I have a DO writing me a letter for both the MD and DO programs I am applying to (he is writing different ones for each). However I was wondering if it is not a good idea for a DO to write a letter for allopathic (MD) programs?

I don't think it matters. I had LORs from a DO and two MDs included as part of my letter packet. I'm assuming the DO won't be writing "xbowers showed extreme, almost fanatical interest in OMM and we spent a lot of time laughing about how MDs ignore this critical component of medicine."

Just because you write this, does not mean it true.

Some MD admissions committee members will care. However, if it is a strong letter and you have no MD alternative, go ahead and use the DO letter.
