Letter of Recommendation Question

I have kind of a random LOR question.. the dentist that I shadowed with and I have the same last name (Nguyen lol) and I was wondering if that'll raise any eyebrows or hurt the credibility of the letter if they think that we are related or something. Do the adcoms investigate who your relatives are and things like that?

I don't think it would matter, at worst contact the schools and let them know but I doubt it will be an issue. Off topic but I got into my research lab as a freshman because my professors favorite student prior to me was a Nguyen and he thought I was related to him.

I would say that is a pretty common scenario.... I know on the TMDSAS app you are asked to list all relatives you have in dentistry so that should clear up any confusion.
