I have a couple questions regarding letter of rec and hopefully someone can help me out.
First of all, is a letter from a research professor counted as one of the 2 letters from science professors? The problem with me is that i already had a letter from my physics professor and i need one more letter, however; i emailed most of my bio professors and they said that they didn't know me well (most of my classes were 300-400 students) thus i cannot expect a real strong letter from them. Would a letter from a research suffice in my case?
Second is when asking for a letter, i need to give them the letter matching form as well, right??? Then they will send the letter directly to AADSAS right? How about if i want to send my letters directly to each school not via AADSAS? Do i need to give them the matching form?
Any input will be really appreciated. God! asking for letter of rec drives me crazy!!!

If you read the instruction in AADSAS website, you will find aadsas "ALWAYS" expect to receive your recommandations. If you do not plan to send them to aadsas, you have to sign a form and mail to them. If not, your file might be pending until your further notice. For your another question, if you think the letter from bio professor would not be strong, the letter from your research professor would be much better. Since he/she knows you well and definitely gives you more solid supports.

hi grettlin,

which form do I need to fill out and send to AADSAS to let them know I am not sending letters directly to them? Is the LOR form> or should I just write a letter personaly and send it to them telling them the letters will be send directly to the school?
I had a friend who did't even bother notify AADSAS and just send her letters to the schools, she didn't have any problems.

Thanks

Mary

In my school, all letter of recommendations are required to be sent directly to pre-health advisor. He then read all letters and come up with his own letter (I guess this will qualify as pre-health committee letter). Also, he only include the better ones for his analysis based on his discretion.
You may want to talk to your school if they provide this sort of service.
