Okay, so I know that your letters should come from people who know you best, but putting that aside for a second and getting down to the actual truth...how important is it for your letter writers to be professors? I have to submit around 4 letters, and only two of mine are professors, while the other two are just faculty lecturers. Will this really make a difference?

To be blunt: if they have a PhD or an MD and teach, you're good. If they are TAs, not so good. Faculty lecturer/adjunct faculty, fine if they have PhD or MD. Rarely, depending on the field, Masters is acceptable.
