Hi guys!
I'm not a US citizen but I'm thinking about trying to pass UMSLE's but I don't have possibility to obtain a letter of recommendation from US MD/mentor/teacher, so just wonder if letters of recommendation are mandatory for international graduates for medical internship/residency in US?

Your question is somewhat vague. Yes, applicants need LOR's. No, they don't need to be from US physicians, you can have all of your LOR's from your home country. However, you will discover that this greatly limits your options of programs and fields. And it depends upon what country your letters are from -- the more westernized, the better, in general.

And you don't want to "pass" the USMLE's. Your scores will be used for selection. Just barely pass and you'll find your options even more limited -- or non existent.
