alright...I have been to a few pharmacy school interviews and have ran into people who have recieved invites or applied to the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and are trying to figure out if they would want to live in Iowa. So...I told them I would post some info on life at Iowa. First off, U of I is in Iowa City and this town if f***ing amazing! Seriously...its a college town so everywhere you go there is students. While Iowa has an awesome pharmacy program, U of I itself is kind of a party school, so if you ever need a break from studies, there is ALWAYS something to do! Its really built on the downtown, which is right across from campus, and its about three streets of bars and restauraunts that is always packed with students on Thurs,Fri, and Sat nights...its a blast! Great nightlife! And of course...we have the Hawks! games are always a good time! As far as housing goes...many options. Lots of off campus housing as most of the houses and apartments within several blocks of campus are made up of students only. And of course there is student apartments on campus. However, I am 21 and have been living at an apartment complex called The Lodge for the last two years and its amazing. It is an off campus (when i say this, i mean like a few blocks or so off campus) apartment complex that consists of 4 huge aparment buildings. I think there are like 350 or so apartments in the entire complex. Rooms are 1 person, 2 person, or 4 person apartments. There are fully furnished and big. very modern. The complex was built as student housing, so everyone that lives there are either undergrad students or graduate students. There are many of both, but most people seem to be older than 20. The complex has a huge great room with fireplace (great for studying), a hot tub, sauna, good gym, free tanning beds, an indoor basketball court, movie theater room, game rooms, laundry mates, etc. There is also a bus that takes you down to campus everyday, and it takes you downtown on thurs, fri, and sat nights at 10:00pm, and picks you back up at 2:00am. so very nice. if you don't have roommates, they will give you a personality test and match you up with some. Haha i feel like i am there best advertisement...but i know some people were wondering about housing and life in IC in general...so there ya go. hope i helped. So while i decided not to go to pharm school in Iowa, it is definately a GREAT place to go! People here are really cool and pretty nice looking as well 🙂 haha best luck to everyone on reaching your pharmacy goals 👍

Thats great info. Im interviewing this saturday. How much do you pay a month for ur apartment, and how many people do u live with?

yea my rent here is about 500 a month...so really pretty reasonable. its great living in IC.

oh and Lance, i live with 3 other guys. We each have our own room and share a living room and kitchen. There are also two bathrooms in the apartment...
