I originally had USC-Keck but dropped it. I'm from SoCal with a legacy connection. Should I keep it?Should I drop the 3 state schools in states in which I am not a resident?
Should I also be applying to DO?

Thank you!

You can remove some of the state public schools where you are not a resident including Toledo, Cooper Rowan,Virginia Tech, both Arizona schools.
You could add these schools:
Vermont
Seton Hall
Temple
Jefferson
Eastern Virginia
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
California University (new school)
Kaiser (when it opens)

Thank you Faha! I guess I missed that some of those schools were state public schools.

Thank you.

That was my plan and I've shadowed a DO and have him preparing a LOR for me - which I'm told is important for DO programs.

Would it be fair to ask how you would assess my competitiveness for the allopathic schools I'm applying to?

Thanks again!

The GPA-MCAT grid shows you have approximately a 60% chance for a MD acceptance. If you apply this month to all the schools I listed and submit your secondaries by July your chances are higher.

You have to apply to DO to be on the safe side. Start list with NYITCOM, PCOM and UNECOM. You know which ones I don't like.

What would you think about me adding Hackensack at Seton Hall at this "late" date? Is that a good target for me? P.S. I've received secondaries from all of the schools to which I applied (30) and have completed and submitted them. I'm still waiting for one of them to show me some love :)with an interview invitation. Fingers crossed. Thanks again.
