For those still awaiting AOA status during senior year, is it preferable to opt for ERAS option of

"Membership to AOA decided senior year" OR leave it blank?

For instance, I think I have a shot at AOA but won't know until it's actually decided. I would like to send my app out but would find it painful to not make AOA and then have every program ask me "so did you make AOA.....uh, no."

Any recs?

"Membership to AOA decided senior year" is the appropriate choice. not making AOA isn't always about your grades, and everyone knows this.

Agree with the above. Most of the people who were elected senior AOA at my school were the socializing crew. It seems to be a popularity contest like high school class officer positions

It is a popularity contest in a sense. I believe the minimum criteria as being in the upper half of the class. But the upper half of 140 tends to leave out those who were very close to junior AOA. I wish ours was final GPA alone as a lot of hard working people went unrecognized.
