Which one supersedes?

Living will or power of attorney?

Rx is saying power of attorney and kaplan says living will

Durable power of attorney supersedes living will. The Kaplan qbank says the same. Durable power of attorney is essentially transferring the patients autonomy to another person - it overrules any living will (at least on usmle)

Power of attorney (like said above). The person with power of attorney is the legal words of the person when they can't speak for themselves, so the power of attorney can supercede a prior written statement by the patient, just like the patient could supercede their own prior written guidelines if they were able to speak or make their own decision.
