Quick question for those LLUer's out there - I have a friend in Cali who was recently put on the waitlist for Loma Linda. Does anyone have any information on what his chances of an eventual acceptance are?

Any info or comments or suggestions on how he should go about increasing his odds would be much appreciated. Is it true that most cali schools are filled up at this stage. I would assume so since the new application will be out in a few short weeks.

Best of luck to all those accepted this year - good luck and apply early for those just starting their application cycle. Hook it up!

Is your friend seven day advantaged or a devoted christian?

has your friend called the school themselves to see what his chances are? Also, it might be a good idea to what his chances are given his religion (or lack thereof).

Oooh...that's a tough one. I'm not quite sure how many they waitlist each year, but I heard that unless a lot of people defer for one year then your friend will be out of luck. Last year they had 3 people deferring so 3 alternates were able to get in.

Also, I have a friend who was waitlisted last year, and reapplied this year. Unfortunately he got rejected this time around.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies - I will be pass along the information.

As for my friend, he is a strong Christian, so no worries on that end. I'm not sure what seven day advantaged means. There doesn't seem to be too much movement on the LLU waitlist; hopefully he'll still get in though...

thanks again for the info!

dj- I think it's "Seventh Day Adventist"

Anyway, good luck to your friend.

Yeah, it's Seventh-day Adventist (S.D.A.). I think Tinker is just making a point about how it is to your "Advantage" to be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian.

Since Loma Linda is a Parochial University that is supported by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, they give preference to students that share their same beliefs. However, enrollment is not limited to S.D.A. Christians. In fact, they are also open to other religions.

Good luck to your friend!
