Hi,

I'm thinking of doing a PhD, and then medical school after that. As opposed to a MD-PhD, I would have to pay for medical school tuition.

I have heard that there are programs that will repay your medical school loans for doctors that take up primarily research careers. but this is about all I know. Does anyone have details/links/info?

Thanks!
Sonya

The NIH has both intramural and extramural loan repayment programs for MDs. PhDs. etc... doing clinical and/or pediatric research fellowships. The NIH webpage http://www.lrp.nih.gov/about/ has more details on these programs. I think they repay up to $35000 in educational debit per year for a 2 year period - but am not sure of the exact details.
