    Hi folks,

I am searching for FP residencies which are MD/DO dually accredited.

I know of three in Maine and one in Binghamton NY.

The AMA and AOA residency data bases do not provide this information.

If you know of any more (I keep hearing they are ubiquitous) I would be grateful to hear from you.

MSU (Sparrow) and NYCOM (mostly in Brooklyn) have a # of dual programs, ie AOA and ACGME. Other dual programs - Clarksburg, WV and Johnson City, NY.

Over the years, I have listed a # of dual programs, but no longer keep up with it. It is pretty simple to figure it out, take the AOA list and check it with the green book or FREIDA. Ignore the programs on the AOA list that are obviously not ACGME, eg Grandview, Doctor's, POH, Westview and all the other osteopathic hospitals.

Every military program is dually accredited.

    Thanks for the items prefontaine.

I had thought of the process of looking for the ven-diagram-like union of the two lists... BUT to my surprise I discovered that none of the three programs in Maine existed in the AOA data base. So that method won't catch them all, perhaps not even most of them.

If a residency is dual accredited, do they match residents via both the osteopathic and allopathic matches?

    DDUNCAN, yes.

I asked that very question at the dual accredited site where I am at the moment.

at this place they designate a certain number of residency slots for DO's. Let's say it is three this year. If they fill those three during the match and another DO was ranked fourth for example, that DO student Could get accepted during the ACGME match--depending on how the rankings were for, and by, the other applicants of that match.

It was suggested that it was in an applicant's best interest to apply for both matches.
